Leading the Charge

Founded in 2008, Energy Trust quickly became renowned as the best place in the UK to train to become an energy assessor. The provide both physical and distance learning opportunities across the country, with a vast range of entry points.

They needed a website with the ability to take course deposits, offer their consultancy services and show off their glowing reviews; and a killer digital campaign to get their services in front of the right people.

An Attractive New Site

We designed and developed a bespoke new website that made it easy for users to find the information they needed, and book courses with the training centres they desired. It also works across different display sizes, such as tablet and mobile devices, so users can book their course wherever they happen to be at the time!

The site uses WordPress as a content management system and Arlo as its events and ecommerce platform.

Digital Marketing

The digital marketing team at ADAO have been working to support the visibility of Energy Trust’s training courses for a number of years now, both through Google Ads (PPC) and organic; working on search engine optimisation (SEO) for this client.

Their Arlo CRM system provides a very effective connection to Google Analytics, with some additional configurations conducted by our team to attribute revenue by source (organic, PPC, social, referral, direct and email). With ecommerce tracking as well as event goals established, our team have the full picture to assess return on ad spend (ROAS) and return on investment (ROI) from campaign activity. Something we carry out for all of our clients before commencing with any digital marketing activity.

The Results So Far

To date, we’ve seen impressive growth through SEO, both regionally and nationally for terms such as [EPC courses and energy performance courses – both 1st on Google] which the company didn’t rank for before using ADAO. The company also ranks highly for approx. 18 other keywords with strong industry search volume. This has positively impacted upon their organic traffic. We have also used products such as SEMrush to closely monitor their performance against key industry competitors.

During the 2020 Covid pandemic, Energy Trust shifted their courses to online (virtual) classrooms rather than in-person. By reflecting this effectively through Google Ads (PPC) as well as through the search terms they were bidding on; ADAO supported in maximising the exposure of their brand. This led to a surge in bookings; due to lockdown and perhaps people searching for new qualifications such as the qualification available from Energy Trust off the back of being made redundant.

We hope to see even better results moving forward from digital marketing activity, based on having a new look website with improved UX.
